Valley Cafe in Hatch

They have the BEST green enchiladas ever!!! Hamburgers are great too! Waitresses are so friendly. A must eat place when you visit Hatch New Mexico.

Enjoyed lunch here while traveling from Albuquerque to Tucson. The homemade guacamole was delicious.

This is my family's favorite stop for lunch in Hatch. Hatch is small and doesn't have many food options, but the Valley Cafe has a unique charm. Every time we've been there, you get the sense this is a local favorite and everyone knows everyone else. The staff is always very kind. The food is good too and priced well. Am excellent place to get Mexican food with the local peppers! The interior could use a bit of an update but otherwise a great destination.

Small hole-the-wall restaurant. Food was good. Husband had a burger & fries and I had enchiladas. A little bit of a kick with the enchilada sauce, but not bad. Would eat here again if in the area.

Delicious food. Fast and good service. Chile rellenos are hot! Didn't care for the cheese inside. Chile on the enchilada was super delicious! Great, great, great beans! You can tell they're made with lots of love and affection not to mention real pintos not canned. I got the combination plate, 1 taco,1chile relleno, 1 enchilada with rice and beans for 10.59! Super great priced and super delicious. If you're stopping through, eat here you will not regret it.

I love stopping at this little cafe! They have the best Taco's El Pastor I've ever had. Great little place to eat at an even greater price. Friendly people!

I would not recommend this place. Service was slow and the food was not very good.

Staff was slow, not as friendly as they should be with customers. It took about 30 minutes to get our food and there were 2 other tables without food also, they came in when we did.The place was very warm inside despite the weird fans they had going. The door was constantly open so flies kept coming in and big window in back dining room caused it to be alot warmer inside and also glare from sun through window. Only reason I give 1 star is because the food was good, otherwise if could give zero stars I would. Our waitress never came back to check on us and nor give us more iced tea or ice water. They gave us plastic straws that were defective, had only one side open, then used scissors to cut open that end, extremely unsanitary. We were given one napkin for the whole meal and I had to ask another waitress for more water, she came back with glass of water that was lukewarm, no ice?! We will never go back to this place nor recommend it 👎

This is a local place with great food. Service is friendly and fast. Food is delicious and very reasonable. We always eat breakfast here when we pass through town but they are also known for the best burgers in town!

Was passing through town taking the short cut to Pueblo Co when I came across this Cafe in Hatch. Great food in nice little but bustling town. With so much to choose I had the waitress pick for me. She choose the combination platter and it was fantastic. Being from Minnesota I havent had much Mexican food this was fresh and tasty. Friendly, clean and great food.

Yesterday we took a brief road trip to Hatch, NM. We stumbled up the Valley Cafe and were tickled to find our favorite kind of place. A small, unsuspecting cafe with fabulous food. My husband ordered the hamburger and I must say it was one of the best I have ever tasted. It was how we remember hamburgers before there were burger-chains. I ordered the green-chili con queso and it was quite good. We also ordered the green-chile burrito, which was a filling of the queso. If ever you are driving Rt. 25 in New Mexico and see an exit sign for Hatch take the exit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Valley Cafe.

Go to Valley Cafe over Sparky's. It's way better!

For a quick stop not bad. Not many choices on the menue and was upset they didn't have sugar free syrup.

OMG what a bad experience! I do not recommend this place, stay away! I thing the Health Department should close them down. The food was super good, everyone of us were happy (8 of us) until.... I went to the rest room. 1st thing that through me back was the smell. I noticed a wall poster that is common in old Mexico, DO NOT FLUSH USED TOILET PAPER - PLACE USED TOILET PAPER IN TRASH CAN. The trash can was full of toilet paper with feces. Then my grandson had to go to restroom, while sitting on toilet the back of his head leaned backward on the toilet lid, it fell into the water tank and broke the bottom of the water tank, water everywhere. Owner and her daughters were not motivated to clean up. I assure u this is unsanitary place. It should be shut down.

Solid food flavorful burgers enchiladas. The famed Hatch Green Chili gives a good tingle & chili flavor, does not overwhelm. Complements the overall burger. Hearty portions. Excellent fries (offered with mustard, ketchup, mayo, chili sauce) which can help counter chili bite. Fresh hot coffee. Friendly staff & friendly locals abound! Come here for small town goodness.
